Oval Silk Centerpiece Module #1

Day 2 was to create a silk centerpiece that was oval in shape using line flowers. I learned about breaking the line of the container, sequencing, insertion depth and binding point. Wow, just learning a few simple things made all the difference in the world! I still have a ways to go, but it is so much fun and the outcome is a beautiful keepsake! The more I learn, I realize the less I know. I am still enjoying my flower arranging experience.

Floral Design Institute classes for mois!

I took the plunge and decided to learn about the floral design industry. It's something I have always wanted to do and now I get the chance to try!! I am taking online classes from the Floral Design Institute in Portland, Oregon. I am learning so much! My first floral design was a round centerpiece using silk flowers. It turned out pretty well, but I need to make the stems shorter. Here's a photo of my first design.
